Palo Santo literally means "holy wood" and, like white sage, originates from the Native Americans of South America. Centuries ago, they used it in ceremonies to cleanse the aura and heal negative influences. In Europe, too, people buy the sacred wood to cleanse their homes or simply for its purest fragrance.
The scent can be described as a warm, woody, and light aroma with a sweet note that sometimes shines through. Compared to white sage (which is also used for the same purpose), Palo Santo exudes a very mild scent. We can't imagine anyone who wouldn't be enchanted by its natural and therefore spiritual scent.
Palo Santo
When Spanish monks discovered the purifying and healing properties of palo santo wood, they named the tree "palo santo," which means "sacred wood." While some incense herbs are used solely to cleanse a space of negative energy, others are used to subsequently attract positive energy. Palo santo is rare because it does both simultaneously. The burning process releases the oils of the sacred wood, which purify the space and the people it comes into contact with, attract positive energy, and even heal people on a physical and subtle level. This increases people's ability to concentrate and meditate.
The Palo Santo wood is supplied to us from Peru and Ecuador. The harvesting of the wood we sell is controlled by the local government. The trees are very rare and therefore not cut down. Only the wood from fallen trees is taken for harvesting and sale.
